Apparently they have been asked to return to work next week! (Social distancing will be practised)! ( BBC News )What does everyone think of this?

Pilates you can just take a photo during the renewal process on the website - we didn’t need an app

I renewed mine with a photo taken on phone a couple of years ago. No app, the uploading process checks it and advises whether to take another if not meeting criteria.

I'd say it's a very good idea and pretty darned essential, given there are essential workers crossing borders across the world every day helping to freight food, drugs and pharmaceuticals into the UK ..

...and as Statistician999 points out ...Good luck getting the likes of a 6 month extension global solution PDQ..

We applied for my sons before lockdown and haven’t heard anything back.
I didn’t know they’d closed at all and they have all his documents!
If they are able to have minimum staff in and practice social distancing then that is all that is required of them. My job is non-essential yet I’m expected to go work to fulfil online orders from the warehouse.
It’s not about people not needing them until next year for holidays! For my son he needed it for ID as he wanted to get weekend job now he’s 16.
I guess that could be an any-day-of-the-week job now school is finished for him, if we ever get the passport!
