I heard from a family member living elsewhere that the police have got wind of the number of holiday cottages still showing 'booked' in national parks- like the Lakes. There are plans to stop people on the roads and ask where they are heading and turn them back.

I have seen a booking or two for a holiday cottage centre we use, and it looks as if people are possibly turning up.

What is wrong with people?

Around here police are driving around and pinging car registrations, and any non-local car is being stopped, so there's a good chance anyone dumb enough to go on a road-trip will get stopped and fined.

It's not just the holiday makers at fault here. The cottage let's shouldn't be taking bookings and should be offering refunds or similar to any bookings they already have.

It's not easy to turn away business but it's not responsible to be going through with bookings either.

The people who live behind my house have gone on holiday and the husband is in the police.

The Welsh Police or it may have been the Welsh govenment have been trying to get Airbnb to stop showing holiday homes in Wales as availible for Easter. Harder that it sounds apparently.

They have also been knocking on doors of holiday lets, and known holiday homes to get people to go home.
There was one that advertised as Escape the Covid in the city at a home in Snowdonia. They did get that taken down I believe.

Good. Why should I be stuck in my house with my two gorgeous teenage boys whilst others are going on holiday to the beach or the Lake District. Arrest the lot of them.
