Buying children's shoes?

I know this will have been asked before but I can't find it.

DS (3 years) has grown out of his summer shoes. It's unexpectedly sunny. He could survive in winter shoes - it's not properly essential.

I always buy from Asda George online, they're the only ones that fit him.

Should I be ordering right now or not?

Yes it’s been asked a million times and yes it’s still ok to buy, go on there site they are offering free delivery so of course it’s ok to buy, they are encouraging people to. Be aware though that when I looked they wouldn’t be delivering for almost 3 weeks so I looked elsewhere

I think having shoes that fit and are appropriate for the weather is important enough to merit an online order.

I’m buying DD some clothes as she’s had a growth spurt.

I'd order this could drag on for months and tbh you don't know whether at some point they'll close and furlough their staff due to lack of sales.

I had to order some from Clark's just as lockdown happened. Growth spurt and shoes didn't fit. There are quite a lot of measuring charts online.

PeacockPies · 08/04/2020 06:55

Of course it's ok to get shoes for a three year old.

moita · 08/04/2020 06:56

They need proper fitting shoes

cliffdiver · 08/04/2020 07:02

I ordered DDs some Crocs sandals from Amazon - one pair were on Prime next day delivery.

bedtimebrew · 08/04/2020 09:16

Thanks everyone - I think the guilt is because he does have shoes that fit. Just not summer shoes and I feel bad about someone having to pack and deliver that

Anyone know how to work out shoe sizes? My toddler is still in her first pair of shoes but I think they may be getting a bit small - trouble is I don't know.clarks had said to take her back in when we thought her feet had filled out the shoes a bit more and they'd check for ys. Doesn't look like we can buy a toddler shoe size gauge anywhere online at present as they're all sold out. Any hints would be very much appreciated

milkcartoncat · 08/04/2020 13:31

I asked this on another thread and someone suggested I make shoes 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Get them to stand on a piece of paper and draw around their feet. Measure from the longest toe down to the heel. Then look online for a conversion chart.

Happy Little Soles have a chart and I’m pretty sure Start rite do as well.

BikeRunSki · 08/04/2020 13:40

Pediped also have a size chart online, and you can order from Amazon.

Just recently purchase my DDs shoes from clarks online her first pair she has now grown out of so she needed another pair to be able to play out in the garden as we have concrete slabs not soft grass for bare feet and we've got my DS as well as DD some sandals I think it's essential and as PP have said we literally do not know how long this will go on for so best to order them now before even deliveries become a no go to and a ban on them

Thankfully I had the foresight to buy a Clark’s kids measurer thing because Dd is a frigging nightmare getting her feet measured and I was slowly going insane buying shoes.

I’ve just ordered her 2 pairs of Clark’s and 2 from Zara. Kids shoes are definitely an essential!

SnugglySnerd · 09/04/2020 13:00

I ordered some last week and they got here just in time for this nice weather in the garden!
