When will we be able to see family?

I’m sure everyone’s wondering the same thing but what are YOUR predictions?

I’m predicting/hoping end of May at the latest and my reasons for this are:

  • Furlough has been guaranteed until end of May
  • When you look at Spain’s figures from March 16th (I’ve been doing some research on statistics) they peaked around 23rd March and there number of deaths as of April 3rd have started to decline. If we follow the same pattern, our number of deaths should start to decline around April 16th but then with that being said, they have much stricter lockdown measures set in place.

What do you all think?

I'm hoping beginning of June Sad

Christmas i reckon

Siameasy · 06/04/2020 11:48

I mentally prepared myself for 12 weeks at the start of this which would mean beginning of June

moita · 06/04/2020 11:49

I'm hoping end of may/beginning of June. Missing my family so much..

ToTheVetsWeGo · 06/04/2020 11:50

@Raffathebear not a chance will I be staying in or away from family until Christmas.

I'm saying end it may, any longer people just won't listen

PotteringAlong · 06/04/2020 11:53

I’m hoping for June

kingkuta · 06/04/2020 11:54

My guess is end of May

Rosalie49 · 06/04/2020 13:38

Looks like most people agree end of May/beginning of June. I can cope if it is until then as at least we will still have a summer and in hindsight it’s not that long. We can do this. I really hope we get to see family sooner rather than laterSad

OH is a shielded patient and that doesn't finish until mid June so I doubt it will be before then.

Floobydoodoo · 06/04/2020 13:43

I really don’t know because even if restrictions are lifted do I risk seeing my parents and giving them the virus? So I think not until I know I am immune, or my family are, or there is a vaccine.

Which is a horrible thought but the alternative doesn’t bear thinking about either.

okiedokieme · 06/04/2020 13:43

I would be surprised if they still had lockdown by the beginning of May but we will be encouraged to keep socially distancing and I suspect pubs/restaurants will remain closed longer than shops. Things will reopen in reverse order to closing basically I expect. As to family, it will depend on how vulnerable they are and whether they need help. I'm going to have to go to my DD's (she autistic) at some point as she needs a bit of oversight but she isn't vulnerable and I'm nearly 14 days clear of catching it (I'm waiting until at least that long to be sure I'm not infectious).

BroomstickOfLove · 06/04/2020 13:56

My family mostly live in ither EU countries, so I'm assuming I won't see them for a year. UK family, probably late summer.

AlbusSeverusPotter13 · 06/04/2020 13:57

23rd June. That’s 13 weeks of lockdown.

Scruffyoak · 06/04/2020 13:57

End of june
