Matt Hancock said:

So my message is really clear. If you don’t want us to have to take the step to ban exercise of all forms outside of your own home then you’ve got to follow the rules and the vast majority people are following the rules.Let’s not have a minority spoiling it for everybody

Firstly do they really expect absolutely EVERYONE to follow the rules? When has that ever happened in society?

He is saying himself it is the minority.

I'm not saying they are right to break the rules but that's what some people do.

This is like saying if one person commits a crime in your country you all go to prison.

Why so drastic?

The police are already approaching people in groups outside, questioning them and asking them to go home. Surely the answer is to give them the power to force groups to break up and go home and/or issue a fine which only affects the people concerned, not punishing the people who are already complying?

Yes I know they are already issuing fines.

I've just made the same point on another thread.
Trouble is no common sense anymore !!
Me going for a walk round the block isn't going to harm anyone but that group of teens hanging out in the park is .

Because the aim is to control the damage to the country and nhs, not to be fair to everybody.

Spodge · 05/04/2020 17:43

I agree, OP. And to those who say there aren't enough police, how about enlisting an army of the Mumsnetters bleating about wanting full lockdown to go and enforce the rules? I'm sure they'd be very zealous.

If everyone were following the rules, then it wouldn't be an option. If we had the police manpower I'd like to see immediate fines, even arrest and in the case of children, them being taken off the street and their parents having to collect them and receiving a fine (there are two 11/12 year olds drawing with chalk at the bottom of our road, I happen to kno they're not brothers!).

Can you not see, that people who are staying in, and only going for max 30 walk, walking their dogs near by and then going home, shopping once a week are trying to do their bit.
Do we like staying home, No.
You could do it but you choose not to.
