Stupid science question- are you more infectious when showing symptoms or when asymptomatic?

So if you can have it for 14 days before you start showing symptoms, are you equally infectious for all that time?

not an expert and just making this up

If it's spread by droplets, then surely you're more contagious during the coughing stage, as you're spreading the virus further than you would be just from speaking/breathing?

That's what I was thinking too, but am equally no scientist!
