I was furloughed on Monday so nearly a full working week done and I've completed a grand sum of zero things I planned to do.
I planned to
Divinely homeschool the kids
Bake bread/cakes/pies etc
Start learning a language on you tube
Sort out the garden, plant flowers and veg
Kondo my house
Lose weight by mindfulness

Instead I've
Watched people from my kitchen window
Had baths
Watched Netflix, but not even things I am particularly interested in
Drunk wine
Watched memes
And drink more wine.

Whilst I am hopeful for week 2 has anyone else failed miserably at their life improvements?

And apparently have lost all ability to correctly format and write coherent sentences.

I'm on week two of being furloughed.

First week was like yours.

Second week is like yours.

I'm hopeful week three will be better Grin

I think that sounds like actual, honest, real life improvement!

I mean, we are slowly deep cleaning the flat, and I’ve organised my things and made sure everything embarrassing is cleared away in case I/we get ill (joke!), and our general life admin is up to date AF. But I’ve also had wine more nights than not (well, more like equal really, as I have toned it down a bit), lazed around playing Hay Day, watched lots and lots of YouTube videos on things that interest me, and spent a lot of time eating snacks. It’s great!

RedRed9 · 02/04/2020 16:18

Same. I have diy to do. I have all the equipment here ready to go but I just.... haven’t.

Also finding it incredibly hard to get the motivation to do even a limited amount of work (wfh).

I’m waking up late and on my phone waaayyy too much.

Buy a penguin and paint it green

I’m three weeks+ into our self-imposed extreme social distancing. I mostly miss being able to go see my daughters and chill with them. And also chicken. I really miss chicken! There’s some in the freezer but I’m hoarding it to use very sparingly on very desperate days...

GoldfishGirl · 02/04/2020 16:19

I am still working and won't be furloughed so your days sound heaven to me.

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 02/04/2020 16:19

I've just spent the last half-hour browsing recipes for sourdough starter.

And then thought, meh. CBA.

I was also going to do a ton of yoga eyes unused mat sadly

In my defence, work has been ridiculously busy (although much quieter today, for some reason, I think everyone's got over the excitement of endless Teams meetings tbh)

Wejustdontknow · 02/04/2020 16:27

I am still working although have swapped to nights and dropped hours so basically have mon-thurs at home, I planned to spend quality time with the kids, start yoga, get ahead with uni work (open uni so all deadlines still set as normal) and keep on top of housework.
In reality the kids are at least doing their allocated school work each day, can’t say we are doing much else, I let them have far longer than I should on screens, I’ve not even looked at a yoga video and I have two essays due by Tuesday for uni which I haven’t even started yet and have no idea how I will meet the deadline but here I am with the kids getting along upstairs and instead of using this time to be productive I’m browsing Mumsnet and I have done nothing but the very essential housework so far

Thighmageddon · 02/04/2020 16:30

@Wejustdontknow

My dh has been given three weeks extensions on all his essays due, might be worth checking.

IamHyouweegobshite · 02/04/2020 16:32

I have been at home 3 1/2 weeks now (I think, time has gone into some weird vortex), admittedly I was ill for 2 weeks, so spent a lot of time in bed, dozing. This week felt much better, have all the get up and go to do home learning with children, clean house, cook, study etc etc, I've managed to do a bit of home learning, and that is it. I'm so tired, literally could sleep and sleep. I don't know if it's because I've been ill or because I'm just lazy.

FredWinnie · 02/04/2020 16:33

My week 1 was similar to yours - I was self isolating and got nothing done

I read the news
Read mumsnet
Watched youtube
looked at memes
Watched netflix
Ate too much

Week two I somehow found my mojo or whatever

Be kind to yourself

You didn't kill the kids
You didn't run out into the street screaming incoherently from the stress of it all
And your interesting sentence arrangement means that your post reads like an avant garde poem Grin
Maybe called Ode to Mumsnet?

You'll get your mojo back
