I think I have symptoms

I felt like I had the flu last week, body aches, runny nose and just felt blah!
This morning I've woke up feeling rotten, my glands are swollen, runny nose, cough, aching from head to toe and shortness of breath and when I try to take a deep breath in my back hurts
I'm worrying because I have a 15 month old and a 3 month old and I don't want to pass anything onto them, and I don't want to ring 111 as I feel like I'll be wasting there time and I know how overworked the NHS staff are as I'm 29 and probably able to just fight it off
Or is it just the flu/cold I don't know what to do

I started with a cracking headache on Monday night, didn't get out of bed yesterday, had aches and pains and my back aches. I'm scared but I'm telling myself it's probably just a fluey type virus thing. Just because CV is doing the rounds it doesn't mean all the other ones have gone away.

JustAddCoffee91 · 01/04/2020 08:24

Yeah I guess in these times im probably presuming the worst when it's more than likely just viral thing.. it's the thought of passing something horrible to my boys they're still so tiny

I know it's terrifying. Have you done the symptom checker on 111?

userxx · 01/04/2020 08:42

Are you on your own with the kids?

wheresmymojo · 01/04/2020 08:51

In a sense it doesn't matter if you have CV or something else the plan would be the same...

  • Don't Call 111 unless you're really having trouble breathing
  • Treat symptoms
  • You should self-isolate in the house if you can (not possible for everyone e.g. single parents)

That's it.

wheresmymojo · 01/04/2020 08:52

Oh...in case it is CV the whole household has to self isolate for 14 days (no leaving the house at all so get someone to drop groceries off).

JustAddCoffee91 · 01/04/2020 09:00

Yeah I'm on my own with the kids, my mum has been leaving my assentials at my back door... she literally lives right behind me, my back gate is about 2 metres from her front door

@JustAddCoffee91 Glad your mum is not far away. I think all you can do is sit it out and wait for it to pass 😞
