Reduced wage at 80% or early maternity leave?

I'm due in 10 weeks time and I am about to find out if I am going to be furloughed at which point my pay will reduce to 80% before tax. I am not sure how they calculate statutory maternity pay which is now all I'll get as a result of this virus impacting on the business. I'm certain I will be furloughed because my work has dried up and my industry has come to a halt. If I hung on would my maternity pay be based on my reduced wage? This would mean I'd probably be better taking early maternity leave? Or should I work right up to almost my due date? Please help. Thanks.

Your maternity pay is determined by your pay during your “qualifying week” which is 15 weeks before your due date. If you’re due in 10 weeks then obviously this has already passed so your mat pay will be based on your full salary, not the 80%.

Oh is it really? That's a huge relief thank you.
