This is long. However, I think we all have the time to watch it given the current situationSmile

“One of the bottom lines is that we don’t know how long social distancing measures and lockdowns can be maintained without major consequences to the economy, society, and mental health. Unpredictable evolutions may ensue, including financial crisis, unrest, civil strife, war, and a meltdown of the social fabric. At a minimum, we need unbiased prevalence and incidence data for the evolving infectious load to guide decision-making.“

John P.A. Ioannidis is professor of medicine and professor of epidemiology and population health, as well as professor by courtesy of biomedical data science at Stanford University School of Medicine, professor by courtesy of statistics at Stanford University School of Humanities and Sciences, and co-director of the Meta-Research Innovation Center at Stanford (METRICS) at Stanford University.

I couldn't have less time now!
I'm trying to balance a full time job, degree and caring for my 2yr old at the same time.

You are busy! It’s an hour interview. Maybe watch in segments.
Best wishes

What's your point? Do you agree / disagree?

Mumlove5 · 01/04/2020 10:08

I agree more with Dr Ioannidis. We need more testing and data. I do feel the media is one of the reasons for this mass hysteria and panic. He mentioned the Imperial College model too. The fact that we are literally watching and waiting for every death is new.

It’s an insightful interview.

We need to be prepared but we also need to quickly find a way out of this lockdown because the consequences will be worse than the actual virus.
