He had no underlying health issues. This is mad. It’s so unpredictable no one tell guarantee you will recover from it. Please stick to the guide less and save lives by social distancing

Obviously it’s incredibly sad when anyone dies especially a child.

The only thing I would say is that I think it’s wise to be cautious with these sort of reports. The healthy 19 year old Spanish footballer who died from the virus was initially reported to have no underlying conditions and it subsequently transpired he had undiagnosed leukaemia.

The healthy 21 year old girl who reportedly died of the virus it subsequently transpired did not have the virus and died of a heart attack.

The media does tend to sensationalise these sorts of incidents which is unfortunate as this sort of report is obviously going to be hugely anxiety inducing for many. Obviously it’s entirely possible that the child did die from complications relating to the virus but I would advise caution until more is known.

His name is Ismail Mohamed Abdulwahab, he was 13 & died alone. Where is the outpouring of grief for him? Absolutely heartbreaking.

Laniakea · 01/04/2020 08:48

Where’s the outpouring of grief for all the other children who will die this year?

LuxLFC · 01/04/2020 08:53

How can there be an outpouring of grief for people who haven't died yet?

Unluckyinlove2 · 01/04/2020 10:00

A child has died. @Laniakea just stop. This isn’t the time. You are on the Covid-19 board and that is what is been discussed. Honestly do one.

LuxLFC it’s the fact he died alone that really upset me, his poor parents couldn’t be with him. He was just 13, still a child.

Every time I’m told I’m being over the top by staying in, I read a report like this one or hear of a friend that their family member has died from Covid-19, and I honestly know I’m doing the right thing for my children.

LuxLFC, There is another thread about Ismail's death where many, many people expressed sadness for this poor boy and his family.

I am sorry that a 13 year old has died but suggesting I should feel an outpouring of grief for someone I don't know is ridiculous.

Oh god some people just love the competitive show -griefing. They'd be great as those professional mourners you hire in places like Nigeria.

The stats for deaths by covid19 for under 20s are very very very clear. The risk is miniscule.

Every death is sad. For their family.
