Possible furloughed about to go maternity leave

Hello. I'm just after some advice I'm due to go on maternity leave in the coming weeks and it looks like the company I work for may be putting people on furlough.

My company give enhanced maternity pay and so I'm thinking if they have to start putting people on furlough I would be an obvious choice. The annoying thing is if I wasn't pregnant I would not be put on it and I doubt anyone else in my team will be. Does anyone have any advice on how this would effect my maternity pay?

My job is full time working at home so the Coronvirus hasn't effected my ability to do my job - but obviously a baby will!

Thanks

If you have work to do, that can be done at home, then your employer cannot furlough you.

Hope you get it sorted Smile

Thank you ! My contact is full time work from home so I can definitely still do my job !

Your maternity pay is normally based on your salary earned in a set timeframe, so say from week X-Y of your pregnancy, therefore I doubt it would affect your enhanced maternity pay. I am no expert though. It depends when that period is for your company and what week of pregnancy you are in. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy Smile

@thisyeargoodyear I am 35 weeks now. I'm just worried about them choosing me to go on it because I'm due on mat leave soon x
