Mild symptoms but someone shielding in the house, how cautious?

I’ve been feeling ill for a week, sore throat, conjunctivitis, exhaustion, temperature was rising last week, but didn’t get above 37.6 am generally feeling crap. No cough, chills etc. It could be anything, but my partner has been told to shield so I’m more concerned than normal. What if I’ve just got a mild case? if I pass it onto him it could get serious. Or am I overthinking as I don’t have a cough or fever? So far Im keeping as far away as possible and obviously hand washing, separate bathrooms etc.

Be very cautious. As he is in the extremely vulnerable category that requires shielding if you do have a mild case he is at high risk of it being severe and life threatening. It’s a worrying time, my DH is extremely vulnerable category too. Hopefully it’s just some other virus you have, I hope you feel better soon.

You should have been self-isolating within the home for 7 days if you have had any of the symptoms, even if your partner wasn't shielding. That means staying in your own well-ventilated room and having no contact with your partner. In theory, if you don't have a temperature after 7 days and feel well, you no longer need to self-isolate but I would wait longer if I were you in your circumstances. Although you've said you still feel unwell, so definitely keep isolating.

I have been SI and he’s sleeping in another room, so have been as cautious as if I had the usual cough/fever, I was feeling like a bit of a fraud because it’s not too bad. Good to know I’m not being ott.
