Hi all

My neighbours are currently having a rather large gathering of about 15 people in their garden. It's not a big garden either. Not only is this in my eyes completely irresponsible but also the cars of these friends have been parked blocking our drive. Whilst I have no plans to go out as I'm following the governments laws it's just a bit off to be honest. AIBU or should they be following the government guidelines...

Our local police have asked us to call 111 if we see gatherings ...

Spanglebangle · 30/03/2020 15:32

Report them.

SissySpacekAteMyHamster · 30/03/2020 15:32

Report them.

cockapoocrazi · 30/03/2020 15:33

Problem is if I call they will know it's from us. We've only moved here a month ago and don't want to cause a massive stir. There is a house overlooking them at the back so maybe I would get away with it 🙈🙈

Phone the police

PurpleDaisies · 30/03/2020 15:34

This needs reporting.

GinnyStrupac · 30/03/2020 15:36

Will we get a photo of their buffet to critique?

Nettleweed · 30/03/2020 15:37

Please ring 101, they are endangering lives

cockapoocrazi · 30/03/2020 15:40

@GinnyStrupac no food out! I wouldn't mind so much if they weren't making an absolute racket when I'm trying to get DS to sleep and his room faces their garden and hadn't parked over our driveway. Also if they weren't breaking the rules

You should. Those selfish idiots are ones who will keep us all in lockdown and spread the virus everywhere.

Are you planning on doing the right thing and reporting it or did you just want to post to moan?

HeidiHoNeighbour · 30/03/2020 15:44

Report them!
Do prepare for the sad faces in the daily mail “we only had a family gathering and now three are dead and two in hospital”
They are twats. Report them.

cockapoocrazi · 30/03/2020 15:45

@PurpleDaisies our police page has asked to report online so will do this

GinnyStrupac · 30/03/2020 15:46

Maybe it's indoors - the plod will sniff it out! I'm usually live and let live, but that's the point at the moment - we want as many people to live as possible. I would have to report them - I wouldn't enjoy doing it, but how many people could 15 people go on and infect?

cockapoocrazi · 30/03/2020 15:53

Update. They've just been shouted at, rather loudly with use of multiple swear words from the house at the back who has told them he has reported to the police 🤷🏼‍♀️ after an argument that has followed they are apparently leaving. Unfortunately I feel like DS afternoon nap has no hope anymore. Hopefully with various reports police can have a word

OP posts:
Lipz · 30/03/2020 15:54

I'd report it especially if your police ask you to. Some People are not taking this seriously and it is. It's not fair on those who are following the rules while others carry on like nothing is wrong.

Our gardai/ police are not taking reports so unfortunately we have to put up with parties from some people around us who think we are completely insane when we ask them to get off our property when their parties/ gatherings overflow or the kids just feel like entering your garden to play with your children's toys.

YakkityYakYakYak · 30/03/2020 15:56

I’m intrigued to know why anyone would be having a garden party on a Monday afternoon, on a not particularly sunny day. A wake maybe?

cockapoocrazi · 30/03/2020 16:00

@YakkityYakYakYak they brought round a tree from what they were shouting as a wedding anniversary 3 years pressie! I've never heard so much about a tree in my life 😂😂 presume it was outside as a planting ritual?

YakkityYakYakYak · 30/03/2020 16:03

How bizarre 😂

thenightsky · 30/03/2020 16:07

Its fucking freezing out today. I've only hung half the washing out because I got too cold! They must have amazingly good thermal wear on.

Flaxmeadow · 30/03/2020 16:07

Who in their right mind would want to go to a party. Even if it is outside. All that sharing cups, plates, handles, drinks, even cigarettes, and presumably the bathroom too 😖

Yay! but party on. Play the fiddle while Rome burns

Andromache77 · 30/03/2020 16:15

There is no such thing as a harmless gathering these days because they increase the chances for the virus to spread, therefore bringing new infections into the community, increasing pressure on already stretched hospitals and, as a result, making confinement last longer, with the attendant human and financial costs. So the least of your concerns should be the noise, if we are ever to get over this we all need to follow the rules, no exceptions.

cockapoocrazi · 30/03/2020 16:20

@thenightsky 😂😂 there were hats 😂 I should've asked
