No Furlough for employment started this month?

My husband started a new job in the second week of March. The whole company is being furloughed, but his boss just phoned and said my husband isn't eligible because he wasn't employed there at 28th Feb. (he wasn't employed anywhere in Feb). So it looks like he isn't entitled to anything - is anyone else in the same situation?

Yes. I had a week off inbetween jobs after working at the same place for many years.
Surely there has to be a way of closing this ludicrous loophole? Write to MP? Lobby government?

I am still working but I fear it is only a matter of time unless my sector gets a bailout.
