I am suddenly not taking good food for granted

Good food has always been important to me and so I have always prioritised tasty, healthy food over other things. But, like a lot of people, I suppose I do take it for granted. But, in the current situation, I am suddenly seeking just how fortunate we are to be able to usually go to a shop and buy fresh eggs or vegetables, etc. I am suddenly really appreciating the things I am able to buy and make sure I don’t waste anything.

Me too, I hated wasting food before but now refuse to.

Me too.

I had olives with feta in my shopping this week. I'm rationing them so the dc's don't scoff them in one go.

I am rationing things too! I keep checking the fridge to see what we have, what should be eaten next before it goes off, etc.

What we don't eat the dog is getting. He thinks he has died and gone to heaven.

I have always hated waste, but now my DH realises just how tight I have always been food wise.

DS had a KFC takeaway several weeks ago, I kept the gravy pot and decanted left over salsa into it, DH found it in the freezer today and said, why just why... Grin

I am now prioritising space in the freezer and even if Sainsburys have ice I am not buying it, it will take up too much space, the other gravy pot has been pressed into service as a large ice block maker.

I have Baileys and I need ice. Life goals. Grin
