Lack of smell/taste

I’m fairly certain I’ve had/got CV. I’ve pretty much been a checklist of common symptoms.

I’ve been managing OK at home, with some help from the GP for a pre existing condition.

One of the biggest things I’ve notice is my complete lack of smell or taste. I haven’t had either for around 5 days. I’ve resorted to smelling the odd anti bac spray to see if anything passes through, but no. It’s the same with food - I cannot taste anything whatsoever. I thought I managed to taste salt earlier but was sadly mistaken.

For people who are on the other side of this, when/did you sense of taste and smell come back? As an avid foodie and wine drinker, I can’t imagine not knowing the difference in taste between cold water and a crisp Chablis

No advice but sending a virtual hug and I hope you get better soon.

Just on the no taste thing, I once lost my sense of taste due to sinusitis and the doctor told me to flush my nose out with cooled boiled water and baking soda. It was fucking awful to do but it did the trick after a few days. Maybe give it a go?

I've got a thread on this. Been pretty poorly myself. Lost smell/taste approx day 7. Today, day 16, I began to smell again (albeit strong smells right under my nose).

@isitorisntit oh great. I’ll have a read. Could you link? The CV board is busy....

Thanks for the well wishes.
