Does it sound like I’ve had it?

15 days ago I started with a very sore throat. That night I had chills and aching limbs. I woke up in the middle of the night drenched in sweat, I took my temp and it was 37.6.
A couple of days later a cough developed, it was a bit dry at first, but then turned into a wet cough. I had crackly sounds when breathing up until a couple of days ago. But since the first couple of days I never had another temp or chills.
The cough is still there and worse at night/first thing in the morning.
My 17 month old DS also had a cough which started almost two weeks ago, he was coughing so much the first couple of nights that he was sick. He had a temp for one day which went down with calpol. His cough is only just easing now and he’s back to his normal self with eating etc normally again.
My DP had diarrhoea the day before I developed the sore throat and over that weekend too, but no real cough. He was also cold and a bit shivery, also tired.

I know there’s no real way of knowing, but just wondering people’s thoughts.

No way to tell if you haven’t had a test. Could have been Covid could have been the flu could have been another virus.

PurpleDaisies · 30/03/2020 08:17

It’s pretty much impossible to say.

PeepeeDarling · 30/03/2020 08:20

It’s so hard to know. I’m sure me and Dh have had it. Been ill for 3 weeks or so now the cough was so bad last week it hurt to breathe and I felt constantly breathless. I’ve not had a temp though. We both had very red eyes- this seems to be a key symptom described by hcw- have you had red eyes?

This is really misleading. There are reports of conjunctivitis related to coronavirus, but to describe it as a “key symptom”, especially in hay fever season, isn’t helpful.

PeepeeDarling · 30/03/2020 11:13

Google it -it’s in numerous reports from front line health workers. I’m sure people with only red eyes are not stupid enough to assume they have the virus purely based on one symptom purple 🤔

PurpleDaisies · 30/03/2020 11:24

peepee people really are that stupid. There’s a lot of panic around at the moment.
