Sorry if this has been covered already, an acquaintance has to go to work in a non essential job for a global company but his particular place of work is not operational at the moment due to the knock on effect of the pubs being shut. He has been contacted by some of his team who are worried about going in and contracting the virus but will end up on SSP if they self isolate. They can take annual leave but the way things are going they will not have enough to cover the lockdown period.
This led me to wonder if people, who maybe have a family member with symptoms, will still go in to work because they can’t afford to live on SSP.
I know people should be grateful that they still have a job etc and I know it’s a selfish thing to do but I wonder if this is something that is/ will happen.
