Cannot get slots from Asda, Tesco, Morrison’s, Ocado or Sainsburys. Only showing the next 2-3 weeks. How on earth do people manage to book them?

I booked a Morrisons delivery for 3 weeks time at 10.30 at night the only one available. I got online at 3am this morning to do it though!

Not a goddam clue. Fortunately I have an amazing neighbour who found a sainsburys one yesterday when I wasn’t allowed as not a high risk group (fair enough but neither is she if it matters) and I was able to order through her. We have swapped to using farm
Shops for fruit veg and basics they’re delivering every week. Butchers I’m
Yet to find.

They’re released about 3 weeks in advance. Although Tesco released its Easter slots early to delivery pass holders (well before lockdown and all of this) so we had our Easter slot booked a few weeks ago. Sainsbury’s is only letting registered elderly and vulnerable people books its slots. Not sure how the others are working but some aren’t taking on new customers. General advice seems to be keep trying for slots 3 weeks out

nancyjuice7 · 29/03/2020 19:44

They're being made available to those only with a disability/vulnerability through a Gov.uk website

Which i agree with

Hellsbells123098 · 29/03/2020 19:45

I meant to say how. I’ll keep checking. I know it’s a terrible time. I would be happy with one slot a month from one supermarket. They are gold dust

Sainsburys claims to be using government data to let extremely vulnerable people get slots. So far they haven't used this government data.

Asda seems to release slots randomly through the night for delivery, and click and collect for 3 weeks ahead. They are also going to use government data but in the meantime haven't blocked people from getting delivery slots as they realise some people are in isolation or vulnerable in other ways.

Not managed to get a Morrisons slot. Though have got a delivery box from them.

Haven't tried Tesco's.

Ocado not taking on new customers.

Please leave the delivery slots for vulnerable people who need them and will not eat without them. If you are not vulnerable, please go to the supermarket.

catscatscatseverywhere · 29/03/2020 20:01

Clymene, I totally agree. Some people really need these slots. We should protect the vulnerable.

Bunnyfuller · 29/03/2020 20:04

Another one saying please leave the slots for the vulnerable/elderly and emergency services/NHS.

There is no reason why a healthy person can’t go and do a shop once a week fgs. It’s what people did before deliveries

Hellsbells123098 · 29/03/2020 20:08

We’re in isolation and was previously shopping for my nana in her 90’s. Will look into registering for her if it’s government data but a bit of a challenge at a distance. Like I said I would be happy with just one regular one a month from the same supermarket. It would be great if they could cross reference data in that way and you could only do it form one of the supermarkets. I’m sure that way more people would get the opportunity and less panic buying
