Just wondering about this who is going to deliver these letters? Our post lady seems to have enough to do with the mail that's coming through normally without going to every single house with a letter that most people will disregard if they are already following guidelines and ignore if they don't consider guidelines apply to them.
Plus where are they being printed and presumably put in envelopes, is this essential work under the new regulations.

I don't really see how spending £5.8 million on that was worthwhile, although it might help persuade some seniors I suppose. Surely the majority of people have started listening now though.

Just posted a similar thread - my Q was why are they sending letters when they know it lives on surfaces/mail and lots of them are infected.

slipperywhensparticus · 29/03/2020 20:06

Because the risk from post is minimal apparently

It's so the kids have something to stick in their diary/scrapbook of COVID-19 Grin

divafever99 · 29/03/2020 20:10

Think I'd rather they spent the money on PPE, ours hasn't arrived yet Confused

Falacy · 29/03/2020 20:11

Why wouldn't they just send a text message Confused

There is obviously an argument that some seniors may not have mobile phones... so send them a letter?

Just sounds like a massive waste of money to me.
