How to make his birthday special

Beatricekiddo27 · 29/03/2020 10:47

It's my ds 7th birthday tomorrow. I have booked the day off work so I don't have to be glued to my computer. Will bake a cane today and have some decorations for the house and presents obviously too. But given that we can't see anyone or go anywhere I'm not sure what we can do throughout the day to make it special for him. Any ideas?

King for the day? Make him a crown. Bow down before him....

Do something really special for breakfast - cake, pudding, mahoosive stack of pancakes with squirty cream. Whatever you think will make him really go wow (so if you'd normally make pancakes, don't do that - I only put that as ds has asked for a 'stack as big as his head' for his, and I'd never make pancakes for breakfast, however his friends are blown away by our christmas tradition of trifle for breakfast).
Unhealthy lunch - whatever of his favourites you can do. Make it more partyish with doing sausages on sticks, that sort of thing.
Dress for dinner! Do the table fully up, wine glasses etc
Make it a day off school and no screen limits

make some cornflake cakes together/Rocky road together (if you have or can get the ingredients.

If you can put you tube on your tv you can do some "just dance" together or just dance along to favourite songs.

you can play some party games or challenges like the highest tower from newspaper/Lego whatever or eating something hanging on a string etc

does your son play Xbox Minecraft etc with friends online - he could play with them and you could ask them to sing happy birthday (you could phone their mum's to organise).

If your son can play online games e.g. on a phone or tablet but doesn't have sound then set up with a friend so he can play with your phone on speaker so he can also talk to the friend (friends mum does the same)

Arrange to FaceTime/Zoom relative or friends to sing happy birthday

In the evening movie and snacks ?

It’s my sons very soon. I’m going to try and FaceTime family and friends so they can sing happy birthday and just give him lots of attention. We might go on a bike ride too. There’s not much else we can do but we will tell him that we will have a celebration with friends when we can.
