FB ‘copy and paste’ posts saying stay indoors going into detail about how it ends for the patient

I’m finding the ‘copy and paste’ posts on FB describing the tragic lonely end of Covid19 patients a little bit upsetting now. I do see that they would have been persuasive 1-2 weeks ago.

I now have two close keyworker friends who have lost parents to Covid19 and I can’t see that reading these terrible descriptions of their loved ones untimely end is helpful in their grief. They’ve cried to me that they could not see their parent etc. Not to mention the anxiety these posts cause in keyworkers like myself who still have to go to work.

I just feel like we need to knock these very triggering posts on the head now. Saying ‘stay at home’ will suffice, surely? The world is moving into a place where many of us (in London at least) will know someone affected.

Mute and unfriend as you need to, take an FB break for a while if that helps (or come off FB entirely).

Even at the best of times there’s complete crap doing the rounds of FB that drags people down.

If you have any cognitively or diplomatically challenged people on your friends list it is even worse.

I agree. I have only left my house once this week and still feel that some people judge that akin to murder.

Not feeding my kids is murder. FB is really upsetting me right now. You have to walk away from it. I have seen someone die of phenomena and dickish posters like that have no idea.

Plus all the fuckwits who suddenly think they know science ( I have a biology degree, worked in medical research, worked on infectious diseases but of animals for 16 years).

Tbh it raises my blood pressure and that's a underlying condition so just back away from FB. It's like Brexit all over again but a million times worse for selfrightous arsehole and no it alls

Another time I look at my "friends" and realise they are vacuous tits

You’re right, and I have recently done a spring clean of FB. The most recent comments have been on a local London mums group of 10,000 members and i just feel people should lay off with it all now.
