Have I just put myself at risk?

I look after my elderly relative.
She lives in a multi storey building
I won't get in the lift if anyone else is getting in.
I got in and just as the door was closing 2 men jumped in (lift is tiny )
I got off the next floor and walked the way.
I'm worried now I've put myself in danger.
Do you think I should be ok?

Impossible to know. You need to tell others that you can't share the lift and to keep their distance

HoffiCoffi13 · 28/03/2020 15:45

No one can answer that, as we have no idea if the people who got into the lift have CV or not.

I told them and that's when I got straight out.
Even in the supermarket today,I was looking at something and a staff member came right to the side of me.
It's impossible to keep away from everyone

The risk is low - they might not have been infected, and even if they were you were only close to them for a very short time and they presumably didn’t cough or sneeze on you. It’s possible you’ve been exposed, but it’s not a high risk.

OhTheRoses · 28/03/2020 16:18

It's extremely unlikely you will come to any harm if you didn't touch them.

Is anyone else ridiculously paranoid when they see anyone ?
I'm using gloves to open doors and touch buttons then binning them.
I'm washing my shopping with dettol wipes
It's gonna make me a loon I think.

I'm the same OP. I think its highly unlikely you caught anything!

dementedpixie · 28/03/2020 16:23

The risk is very low. I think transmission is through close contact of 15 minutes duration or droplets from coughs/ sneezes getting into mouth/ nose/ eyes

NeverYouMind123 · 28/03/2020 16:24

I'm the same OP thinking I've caught a killer infection if I've so much as walked past someone whilst holding my breath x

rainbowmask · 28/03/2020 16:36

Highly unlikely for such a small amount of time and with no physical contact, try not to worry yourself. How careless of the two men.

CocoCharlie83 · 28/03/2020 16:37

It's better to be over cautious op so just continue as you are and it'll be unlikely that you catch it. If everyone acted like you there would be a much quicker reduction in cases

thatswhytheladyisatramp · 28/03/2020 16:39

@NeverYouMind123 I've been holding my breath too..then after I walk past I'm taking a massive breath and thinking "crap I might have caught it now because I breathed more air in Grin)
Can't win
