Other corona viruses live 2 years when frozen

I think this needs thinking about with a view to how food is moved from field to freezer. If it is contaminated by, say, someone in a supermarket then technically it could lie dormant and possibly reactivate. I am not trying to be alarmist and know this is possibly unlikely. I also know that covid 19 hasn’t been around for two years so we do not know if it would survive as long as other corona viruses. I just wanted to mention it in case it can get broadcast so supplier and supermarkets could take it into consideration

Hello everyone - we’ve had reports about this thread with concerns that some of the information shared here may not be accurate.

We understand that these are confusing and anxious times for all of us and, unhelpfully, there’s a lot of fake news circulating on social media about Coronavirus. While we’re not in a position to verify every claim posted on the boards, we do urge everyone to keep in mind that not everything you read on the internet will be based on factual information. (We also know that Mumsnetters are very good at debunking the nonsense!)

As always, please do report anything that you’re concerned about. You can also hide a thread if it’s annoying you by clicking on the link at the top.
