Got a tickle in my throat...is this how it starts??

Obviously hypervigilant now but I keep feeling like I need to clear my throat... I haven't coughed exactly yet....I thought it might be hayfever but now I'm feeling really tired as well...

Just wondered if anyone has similar at the moment. Slightly panicking which is pointless I know! Might gargle with TCP and if that gets rid I'll know it's not the dreaded CV

Sometimes a tickle is just a tickle... the reality is, unless you are the heir to the throne or are ill enough to go to hospital, even if you do indeed have a big, you’ll never know whether it’s Covid anyway,

Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies · 27/03/2020 19:47

That’s bug not big...

I am 3 days into my illness which has not been confirmed to be Covid 19. I also started with a tickle in my throat with no real cough and also thought it might be a reaction to tree pollen. The following day I woke up with a severe dull headache and pain behind the eyes. Had a mild sore throat too. Today (day 3) head is back to normal but am noticing a sharp pain in the top of my lungs when I exhale too deeply or cough too hard.

I've had a slight tickle at the back of my throat for about a week now. No coughing, no temp, literally no other symptoms. Maybe its just psychological, I don't know. But I can't self isolate because of a tickleHmm

GrainneWail · 27/03/2020 20:03

I've got the tickle too, although it's more bronchial than throat. I've had a headache on and off for a few days and I feel like the start of a weight in the top of my lungs. But it's been a week of not getting any worse so I think it's more likely to be hay fever despite the lack of swollen eyes.

We have all has this little tickle in our throat. One where you don’t really cough but need to clear your throat. My DD had it for about two weeks, she then had a really high temp for a day then was totally fine. The temp made me think she had it but didn’t come to much at all.

I had the same cough she had, for about a week now but otherwise fine. A few days ago it did feel like I was breathing with my mouth open even though I wasn’t. If that makes sense. Of course no idea how mild symptoms can be or whether it’s all just a coincidence.

Amboseli · 27/03/2020 20:11

I've had a sort of tickle at the very back of my throat as well. One cough once or twice a day. No temperature, sometimes slight tightness in the chest but I do have mild asthma and am allergic to dust.

I don't feel particularly tired and I don't feel I should self isolate at this point.

So hard to know what to do.

Dennisreynoldsduster · 27/03/2020 20:12

Yes I’m starting to feel a very slight pressure on my chest/back when I breathe deeply :-/

Amboseli, the air has been quite dry the past few days, I understand this can affect asthmatics. This is not to say you haven't caught something but I think the humidity is climbing over the next few days, so see wht happens then. Just an opinion, not medical advice.

Chosennone · 27/03/2020 20:34

I had this last week (wed/thurs) by friday ot was a sore throat and a fuzzy head. Took paracetamol. By last weekend there was a definite sore throat, achey limbs and constant headache and sleepy enough to have a nap. Never went to my chest and started to ease on tuesday of this week. Could've been a weird bug, could've been C19. Just don't know.

whattodo2019 · 27/03/2020 20:34

Pressure in the chest are also classic signs of anxiety. Of you have paracetamol you might want to take two and head off to bed and see how you feel in the morning.
Hopefully it's nothing .

Ive got a runny nose and tickly throat. My anxiety is horrendous so think I am just over thinking everything. Its hard to know what to think and do

Batmanandbobbin · 27/03/2020 20:41

@whattodo2019 I didn’t know that, thank you. I’ve had what feels like someone sat on my chest for two days and a scratchy throat. Slight cough but tends to be when I think about my breathing so I think I maybe making myself ill Blush

Dennisreynoldsduster · 27/03/2020 20:51

@whattodo2019 sage advice! I shall take it

I've definitely got anxiety and randomly bursting into tears at the thought of what the poor NHS staff are going through.

I've had these 'symptoms' for about 2+ weeks now, they don't get any worse but do get completely better.

So difficult. I'm acting like I have it and keeping my distance from everyone and washing my hands about 30 times a day.

Choo975 · 27/03/2020 21:02

Clearing throat can also be a sign if anxiety

Janemarpling · 27/03/2020 21:50

I have had a cough for two days. I think its post nasal drip though.

It's like I forget other illnesses do exist

Theholidayarmadillo4 · 27/03/2020 21:52

I've got a tickly throat too today. I've had two lots of coughing. Hope it's just dust or something.

littlemixarerubbish · 27/03/2020 22:00

I've had a tickle in my throat for a couple of weeks now. It feels slightly bronchial at times, but I've barely coughed and hand no other symptoms. I just wish whatever this is would either go away or turn into a proper illness of some kind Angry
