Finances- Tax credits / UC gone up

Sorry to start a thread on money but wondered if anyone had noticed the amounts for the above have gone up?

Just checked our tax credits online and it says WTC gone up by about £50 a month and same with CTC, wondered is this is due to the recent changes. if so it has happened quite quickly, looks to be from the next payment.

Nothing else has changed in our tax credits came so I'm assuming this is the case. Just though would mention in case others wanted to check their claims too

I had £12 more for some reason

So I mean, it has gone around £100 in total per month and seems to be £50 to me (CTC) £50 to DH (WTC) on top of usual amount. For the extra months also in 2020

Payments usually go up a little, even without any change of circumstances, at the begining of April/ new tax year anyway. So it's likely a combination of both this and the new Corona virus changes.

I knew my tax credits had increased ( by about £20 a week) a couple of days ago, as I received a letter from the council telling me my housing benefit was being cut by £35 a week, due to my increased income Angry

No, we already had the results of the new tax year etc, think this might be due to the increase mentioned in tax credits / UC last week in terms of support due to the coronovirus. Which was around 1K increase over the year which would be about right in terms of the monthly increase.
