Is anyone else stressed out trying to apply online? Sad We have no option to apply for this until we hear anything back from HMRC about money we might receive in June.. both self employed and up shit creek with no money.

I'm having difficulties verifying identity online. Using a company called Digidentity which the UC website directed me to. It's supposed to send confirmation codes to my mobile but been waiting 3 hours and no codes Confused

The online support / help is not functioning.

Feel like giving up and sobbing. UC was going to be our lifeline.

Hi I read all your massages because it panged on my heartstrings when I began to read. I'm so glad you got sorted out. I'm not my. Children as I split from their mum and it's been stressful just thinking how I'm going knowing that she already gets benefits. The reason why I'm messaging is because you say that you're left with 100 a month and just to give you a bit of advice and that was to contact your landlord and explain and ask a. For a small reduction in rent until the pandemic is over and if their keen you could pledge to pay the outstanding bit back once it's over. This is an idea for all in this boat. Good luck and stay safex

I know someone who didnt verify their id online as didnt have any.

Once they registered, They left a message in their journal explaining they cant get through and can someone please ring them back... They did and all was sorted and they got an advance , otherwise its a 5 weeks wait

I haven't read all the way through, but I have had the same issues with verifying my identity. As @juststayhome said, I left a message on my journal outlining the issues. I then had an email to say that someone from the job centre would contact me. I had a phone call on Thursday from them to verify one part of my identity, now have to wait for another call to verify further -- no idea why they couldn't do it in one call, but at least I am getting somewhere.
I don't even know whether I will be entitled to anything anyway, just need to find out.

Thanks for all the advice and kind words. It's all been so helpful. It's an awful situation for so many people.

I have located the Ask for an Advance section and applied online so hopefully I will hear back soon. Thanks for the tip.

Toomboom I hope you get a final decision soon. It sounds as though you've done all you can from your end.
