Online purchasing - helping the economy or risking lives?

I really can’t decide whether ordering from a couple of smaller shops is helping in a time of financial need or risking people’s lives for the sake of non essential frivolous purchases. We have been giving some funding for supplies for my sen kids and I can’t decide whether to order or wait until things settle a bit? What is everyone else doing?

Depends who you are buying from. Businesses like mine where it is only me working and my post drops involve walking into the post office, leaving my sacks and walking out (now reduced to three days a week) are very low risk. Much bigger businesses employ staff and by them being there, increases risk significantly.
I am still buying from small businesses, but not from individual sellers such as those on eBay who aren't businesses,
