Anyone else worried the company they work for won’t survive this?

I can’t sleep with worry. The company I work for weren’t doing too great prior to the outbreak, but I fear this will be the final nail in the coffin for us Sad

I have no savings, a mortgage and a credit card debt. There have already been whispers of mass job cuts. I’m screwed.

Anyone else in the same boat?

The company I work will almost certainly fold. I think my husband's will be ok but some major restructuring will mean job cuts. It's very worrying.

Yes, very worried. And we won't be the only one in this boat.

LegoBloodyHurts · 26/03/2020 12:38

Sorry to hear you are both in this boat. It’s so worrying. I’m kicking myself for having debt and no savings, I wish I had something to fall back on.

Will there be any help for us if we lose our jobs? I doubt the 80% salary will apply if my company folds.

Dh has just been made redundant (about an hour ago). No furlough or anything. We are totally fucked.

Oh Laniakea-I am sorry Sad. Flowers

I'm a bit worried. I've been furloughed for now and my boss had assured us that the company will not fold. The company has been going since the 80s and was doing well prior to coronavirus so I really hope he's right. Still can't help but worry though. It all depends how long we have to lockdown for.

My role is funded by a large charity that relies on fund raising. they will be taking a huge hit and I doubt my position will be funded again after December.

Mine went under last week. The only help available for me afaik is contribution-based JSA (plus my redundancy and notice pay).
