I feel like I could cry Sad we have a newborn at home so would prefer not to go grocery shopping and have been relying on delivery for awhile

We just got our order today with lots of items out of stock including baby wipes

Just feel a bit down with this all

I didn’t want to read and run. This must be very worrying and frustrating with a new born.

I have been getting Tesco deliveries for the past few years ever since my daughter was born - they have been a life saver if you feel for whatever reason you can’t face the shops.

Sorry no advice to offer but I feel for you. I know we’re all in the same boat but it doesn’t make it any easier X

mossyroundhill · 27/03/2020 13:49

Have you got any relatives or friends who could look for bits you need while they're out and drop them off to you? I've had the same struggle to find baby wipes but my MIL managed to get a box for me.

Hugglespuffed · 27/03/2020 13:53

Book that slot for mid April. It is really frustrating. I tried ALL of the supermarkets yesterday, delivery and click and collect, I'm in a city so I could drive to 4 Tesco, 4 Asda's very easily. There was nothing at all. Not even in weeks to come. It is frustrating..I'm going to attempt to go to a shop shortly but I'm dreading it.

IceKitten · 27/03/2020 13:55

Do you have a local corner shop you could go to? I've found ours to be better stocked and much emptier than the supermarket.

Gloria42 · 27/03/2020 13:56

Try again? And keep trying. Our Tesco opened up a load of slots today for next week. I know they have been recruiting drivers etc to meet the increased demand

Herpesfreesince03 · 27/03/2020 13:58

There’s slots going up all the time with people cancelling. People are desperate for slots by me, I had a look about half an hour ago and 3 had come up for the 3nd and 3rd of April. You just have to keep checking

CurbsideProphet · 27/03/2020 13:59

@babychange12 I logged in at 6.30am and got a slot for next week. When I checked on Wednesday afternoon there were none showing. It looks like they're releasing them gradually every day?

dancingthroughthedark · 27/03/2020 14:05

I also checked first thing this morning and got a slot on Monday there were slots available throughout next week so check every day. Up until yesterday I couldn't get one at all. I don't know if it's because they have introduced the new 80 item rule they can get more orders per van?

Soontobe60 · 27/03/2020 14:20

OP, I've just this minutebgot a click and collect slot for Tesco for next Thursday. When I checked last night I couldn't get anything within a 30 mile radius for the next three weeks. Keep on checking a few times a day, and if you can, do click and collect as they tend to have more of these slots available.

Littlepeak34 · 27/03/2020 14:25

Have you tried click and collect? Maybe some earlier dates?

IgnoranceIsStrength · 27/03/2020 14:28

I have been trying for 10 days.. still not managed to get one. Goes up to the 17th without a slot available. And I have tried at various random times.

Menora · 27/03/2020 14:29

I can’t get anything anymore I’ve checked both click and collect and home delivery

deplorabelle · 27/03/2020 14:32

There were none anywhere in my area for ages - believe me I looked right up to the three week booking horizon and all slots were filled. However, I have got one for today.

If you can see slots mid April book them. Use your local volunteer network if you need specific items for the baby

Merename · 27/03/2020 14:35

This doesn’t help with the food but try cheekywipes.com - reusable wipes. Honestly they are a million times better on poo than disposable wipes anyway, just some water and essential oil and soak little bits of towel essentially. Then wash with towels at 60. I think they can do next day delivery and once you’ve tried them I doubt you’d go back anyway. I may have a discount code somewhere. Flowers for you. It’s a scary time to have a teeny baby I’m sure.

doofusmoof · 27/03/2020 15:48

I just got an iceland one for tmw. I'm assuming someone block booked & cancelled

LolaSmiles · 27/03/2020 15:54

Merename I second that suggestion.
Cheeky wipes are great and if OP is finding nappies hard to find, it could be worth contacting their local cloth nappy library as many are able to offer assistance in the current crisis.

Michelleoftheresistance · 27/03/2020 16:02

Nothing whatever in all three weeks currently released, I keep checking.

I was amused by the email this morning asking customers who weren't vulnerable or isolated to give up their slots, it's a bit of a forlorn way to try and shift deliveries over to those who most need them.

babychange12 · 28/03/2020 06:55

No slots whatsoever , not even click and collect Sad made my husband stay up till midnight to get a slot but nothing

DH would have to go out or we might get some from Amazon but it's just so shocking how crazy things have become
