Bank of Scotland/Halifax anyone?

Hi,

I am currently with bank of Scotland and have a loan outstanding, my income has been affected by coronavirus and I have spoken to them on the phone a couple of times about a payment holiday for my loan and they just keep telling me to fill in the form online but I can't find it anywhere!

They said just to google "Halifax loan payment holiday form" but the only one coming up is for a mortgage!

Just wondered if anyone had a link to this or has it done it and could help?

Thanks😁

Thought it was only a mortgage you could get 3 months holiday on ... the bank should have a financial support centre and you can do a budget planner where you have to put in all you income and outgoings and then come to an arrangement with them . Good luck .

Sincere apologies if you have already tried this route Louise but it appears if you go via here:

www.halifax.co.uk/loans/help-guidance/managing-your-loan/

and then sign in, it appears you can apply for a loan payment holiday online from here.

So sorry if it proves useless. Unfortunately I am not a Halifax customer so couldn't sign in to check.

Good luck! 🤞

@Wonkydonkey44 they've said on their website/app that they're doing it for loans and mortgages however I can't seem to find the form that they told me about when I was on the phone.

@Rafflesway I had a look on there but unfortunately that's just for normal holidays like to miss one payment and can do that twice in one year but for the CV they said they'll give 3 month holidays but when I phone the number they tell me to go fill out the form but can't find it. All very confusing!

Thank you both!

God, that is so bloody "Computer says no" FFS! 😡

What about actually trying to HELP people considering they are very fortunate to be able to WFH on full pay. 😡😡😡. How long would it take to forward a bloody form to your email.?????

Louise24902 · 25/03/2020 13:50

@Rafflesway I know, I thought when I said that I'd been told that and couldn't find it they'd offer to email me it but no!

Thing is I am still having to work aswell as I'm an essential worker but my hours have been reduced and I'm struggling to afford everything on less hours and my loan is my biggest payment! 🤦‍♀️

Are you on Twitter Louise ?

If not would be worth you joining and then put this on a Tweet to Halifax. Hopefully that should receive a favourable response. 🤞🤞🤞

Honestly, the reliance of "Online" constantly drives me nuts. What if you didn't have a computer, we're elderly or your Broadband was down?

Absolutely disgusting! (Sorry but steaming on your behalf.) 😤😤😤

Be nice to them. The building society where I work has had a huge increase in payment holiday applications and has drafted people in from all over the business to help answer phones and deal with applications.
From a couple of hundred applications per week to tens of thousands in a few days.

I had an e-mail this morning where it gave me a link to go to if I was having difficulties due to corona. Hope this helps

@Rafflesway I'm not but will definitely have a look, thank you!

@MrsJoshNavidi I was nice to them, I understand how difficult it is for them just now and how many calls they're getting, that's why I didn't want to phone again and thought I'd come on here to see if anyone knew or had successfully managed to do it online. I am still working as essential staff so know the pressures, was just struggling to find what they told me to google so thought I'd check
