Anyone struggling to keep their DC happy?

I'm a lone parent (primary aged DC) trying to do what lots of us are doing - home school whilst fitting in some work.

DC's behaviour has been bad. It is understandable with all the changes and restrictions on what they can do. We've discussed their worries. We've talked about how to try and make sure everyone is happy. I am trying to remain positive. But what I get back from DC is rudeness and unwillingness to cooperate. I feel like I've tried so many different strategies and am getting nowhere. Any tips?

When you are all alone in this it's hard.

Different age group but 13 yr old here was awake all night and has been in his room this morning. Not dressed/no breakfast etc. All the activities have stopped he is withdrawing into himself. Total opposite to the bouncy /sporty person he usually is.
People may not agree with me but so think it's going to take a while to unravel the mess this is going to cause with children
