Awful woman on BBC Radio Solent

Listening to this earlier, and I was in shock:

Phone call live on radio from a lady called Chris

She doesn't care if she infects people and honestly doesn't think any of this is a big deal.

I heard it too. There are no words really. Just an awful incredibly selfish women. I would write more. But I’m not sure people want to read that

Longsleepneeded · 25/03/2020 06:22

There are no words for people like that!! I spoke to a colleague last week who said he wasn't bothered as it was only the old and weak who would die. I walked away in disbelief. Now we are in lockdown. I still have to go to work,(not NHS) and I'm scared as we have nothing in place for safe working.

Ponoka7 · 25/03/2020 06:24

I'm never failed to be shocked by how stupid people are. They exist in all walks, of life. They are people with all sorts of jobs and of all ages.

The same woman probably put total faith in the doctors when her Husband had a stroke, or with her own health, but now thinks that she knows better.
It really is incredible.

Janemarpling · 25/03/2020 06:24

There was a thread on here that said we are reacting disproportionately. They didn't quite say they didn't care who was infected but essentially euthanasia by CV for old people.

Some posters were interesting, others grim.

penisbeakers · 25/03/2020 06:28

I'm so fed up of people treating those who are especially vulnerable to covid19, as expendable. She's lived her life, but doesn't give a shit about people being robbed of theirs because of her actions.

Hear, hear.

I don't care if you are 99, you're not expendable. To normalise that line of thinking is very dangerous.

sashh · 25/03/2020 06:48

Some people are just dumb and careless.

My neighbours to the right of me shop every day, they are still shopping every day (My desk faces a window that looks out on to their drive).

My other neighbours appear to be 'locked down' with the exception of my 92 year old neighbour who has gone to stay with family rather than have carers come in several times a day.

I live on a cul-de-sac, in a bungalow rented from a housing association. They only rent to older people or those with medical need. Each bungalow including my neighbour going out shopping has at least one vulnerable person in it.

Beerincomechampagnetastes · 25/03/2020 06:52

My neighbour had two sets of parents round on Mother’s Day and her cleaned arrived yesterday Shock
They are such lovely law abiding people - I have no idea why they think the rules don’t apply to them...she’s asthmatic !!?

Obviously I have no right to be tooting on my neighbours but in my defence I have no defence. Blush

penisbeakers · 25/03/2020 07:13

@beer that's incredibly irresponsible of them. You're not going to keep quiet about it are you?

Dreadful woman. I sadly know of a couple of people with the same attitude. Awful.

penisbeakers · 25/03/2020 07:18

Same kind of person who probably voted in favour of brexshit.

SquatBetty · 25/03/2020 07:21

I've listened to that - can't decide if she's just a selfish cunt or just shockingly thick. Both I'd say.

UserThenLotsOfNumbers · 25/03/2020 07:23

...or a fake caller to get people riled up and ringing into their show?

donquixotedelamancha · 25/03/2020 07:24

Thing is, this idea that it's only the vulnerable isn't true.

The early data on UK vases shows a lot of previously healthy people in ICU. The way people are affected is very random.

penisbeakers · 25/03/2020 07:29

@UserThenLotsofNumbers

I don't think so.

I wouldn’t dream of saying anything to my neighbours penisbeaker , it’s already happened I’m not sure what it would accomplish. It does however change how I see them and the high opinion of them I held...though I’m sure they do not care!?
What is interesting though is the man of the house was talking to me the other day (from a safe distance across the road) about how he’s been designated a key worker but that he won’t be sending his dd to school as it’s an appalling abuse of a system needed to support only frontline workers- so he has a social conscious when it comes to judging others....
