Hello everyone
I am a cleaner working in a NHS building but not employed by the NHS. My manager has told me i can use the NHS shopping hour but the only form of identification i have is a letter stating the above information incase i get stopped by police. Is this enough proof? Am i being selfish for considering using the NHS shopping hour?

I unknowingly used the ‘NHS shopping hour’ yesterday.

Went and did a shop. Got home. Realised 3 hours later i’d gone during the reserved time.

No one was checking so I think it unlikely you’ll be stopped or checked at all.

Thank you for the quick response.
Oh wow thats shocking. Think i might give it a go then. Hopefully people have calmed down with the panic buying now they have realised the government aren't going to starve us all lol.

I always think its sucks when you're subcontracted and don't get the same benefits.
DH is a cleaner for tesco, subcontracted, tesco staff are getting a 10% increase in wages and extra staff discount, they are on more an hour than DH.
DH gets minimum wage, no staff discount, works 6 days a week and is obviously more likely to stop the spread or catch it as he's cleaning toilets, sinks, hand washing facilities, shelves, trolleys, checkouts etc.
I hope you get your NHS hour, as you are definitely doing your bit!

Do you have an ID badge to get around the hospital? That's all I had to show when I went yesterday.

Our shop is asking for ID.
