I'm not sure if this is covered in any threads, I can't find it though.
What is everyone doing when accepting deliveries?. We have our usual 6 weekly shop being delivered at 10:30, this might sound silly but I've been worrying about whether to wipe everything down with anti bac spray or something. I don't know if this is over the top but doesn't feel like it given how serious things seem to be getting.
Any guidance appreciated.
Thankyou

If you're worried, soapy water is better than anti beaconsfield which is not anti virus. It's also cheaper and more environmentally friendly.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 24/03/2020 21:14

I think it’s meant to be safe, but I hear you.

ArtisanBreadBin · 24/03/2020 21:17

Beaconsfield. Fml autocorrect. Anti bac.

I'm spraying everything with dettol and leaving it in my porch for the day (unless its frozen food)

Read this article someone shared earlier, it’s very reassuring.
There is no evidence that the virus is being spread on packaging currently.

Sh05 · 24/03/2020 21:25

Thankyou.
I plan to wipe down everything but wasn't sure if I was overthinking things.

I wipe everything down, but I have got 2 vulnerable people in my house.
The virus can survive on some surfaces for up to 9 days.

Carbosug · 24/03/2020 21:54

I'm wiping packages with dettol spray because very vulnerable person in the house. Don't know if I'm over reacting.

endofthelinefinally · 24/03/2020 22:33

There is no evidence that dettol spray kills covid 19.
Washing up liquid in hot water is best. Or bleach solution.

lizzie1970a · 24/03/2020 23:32

I'm wiping everything in a bleach solution. It's a pain but each item will have been handled by various people before it gets to me.

Sh05 · 24/03/2020 23:34

Ok so everything arrived came and I wiped down with liquid and water. Washed those things that could be washed and sorted out. Now I have to just get my mum's to their house and mils to hers. Mum lives in the next block so will drop off in their yard now and mils is in fridge my oh will leave on porch in morning, she's a transplant patient so is shielding
