Disclaimer. I am pissed off for other reasons....
Right. I live rurally. Its lovely. It's like an idyllic smallholding except its filled with my dads crap. Why oh why did I let him live with me Anyway it's in a woodland. An open to the public woodland. I an surrounded by the woodland on 3 sides.
The amount of people who have driven here today for a walk, a bike ride, a dog walk and one fucker with some mini golf clubs and 5 children is insane.
Between 2pm and 3pm 137 people came here in 92 cars. At one point there was 46 cars in a car park designed for about 20 and the rest were willynilly up the road. The rest of the day has had had relatively steady stream of people. There was zero social distancing. They have all touched the gate to get in the woods, gone for a stroll and come back completely uncaring of the risk of spreading CV.
I resorted to actually tutting loudly at the dog as they went past about social distancing to flat out telling them that social distancing also applied in the forest. Most looked at me like I was insane. One responded with the wonderful quote of "I cant catch CV outside. It lives on surfaces" as she stood there with her hand on the bloody gate post.
In a rare fit of "get out of my countryside" I have spoken to the owners who have said they are going to come and block the carpark off. I feel bad because its lovely here but FFS people essential travel. Essential!
