DD is coughing and I'm so worried

I've kept my dc at home since last Thursday and we've been practicing social distancing, washing hands, etc.

They've both been absolutely fine so far, both fit and healthy, but tonight my dd7 has started coughing and sounds quite wheezy. No fever or any other symptoms.

I'm so bloody worried it's Coronavirus.

Anyone else's dc on here that have had symptoms and been fine? It could be just a normal cough couldn't it?

Looking for a bit of reassurance and a handhold. Feeling a bit scared tonight.

My DS has been coughing since last week. He also had conjunctivitis which iv since read is a sign. He was a bit tired for a day or two but seems fine in himself. I guess only time will tell if he has had it. I kind of hope he has and he got off lightly.

Thanks @Butterbeeeen. It's hard to know if it's Coronavirus or just a normal cold/cough.

DS started coughing 10 days ago, no further symptoms at all. There are still normal coughs and colds around. Try not to panic.

Dd aged 9 started last Thursday and honestly I was so worried. It was kind of a chesty cough but just come on from nowhere. Still ha sad bit of a cough today but no other symptoms.

DS(14) has had a really heavy dry cough and sore throat since Saturday. We are assuming it’s c-19, and my other DC started coughing this evening. He has been fine tho, despite having asthma, and felt much better today.

Don’t forget the pollen season has started too. DD has been wheezing until I made her start on antihistamines. Fingers crossed.

Thanks all, this is really helping.

Trying not to panic, but it's all got to me today.

@hellsbells99 that's a really good point. She does get the odd bout of hayfever and we've been in the garden all day today. Fingers crossed it's that.

I also have a dry cough, hence I am self isolating. If it's not getting worse, there's nothing more you can do than staying at home away from other people.

Fairly sure I’ve got it - but up probably never know will I :(
What does the cough sound like!?

I’ve never had a cough quite like this before - am about 6 days in - so dry, and comes in waves like il get a coughing fit for about 10 mins and it’s exhausting and I’m left out of breath afterwards!

Today I’ve not been coughing so much - it’s moved on to a bad sinus problem - sore face and headache and body aches!

Having lots of hot lemon and honey drinks and lots of relaxing

Even if your son does have it - don’t worry too much he will likely be fine xx

My DD who is 15 developed a dry cough yesterday afternoon. She has been coughing pretty much non stop ever since. She doesn't have a temp when I check her but she says she feels clammy and achy. Today she describes her chest as feeling burny and she is breathless when she walks. She is eating normally. I'm sure she has Covid 19 her symptoms seem textbook. She is otherwise fit and healthy but I am having a bit of anxiety about it. She's being very good at staying in her room but I guess it is inevitable that we will contract it too. We are all of course in quarantine now

hellsbells99 · 25/03/2020 07:14

In a way, we do want to catch it but very mildly. But because there is no testing, we don’t know whether we have had it which really isn’t helping.

Yes my children have a cough. I was worried when my 4yo had stridor on the first night but no worries since. They are fine.
