People trapped in their homes with just their family for company.
No entertainment other than TV.
Tremendous strain.

I predict either a surge in pregnancies or divorces.

Or perhaps both.

I agree with both your predictions.

But surely most people will have other sources of entertainment than the television?

Don't most people have books (physical or digital)? Card and board games? Jigsaw puzzles? Arts and crafts?

I would hope all households with children would have physical toys. When my girls were younger they could play with toys happily for hours, especially with toys where there was an element of building like Lego, Brio, Geomag, Marble runs.

Where do you think the phrase "baby boomers" came from?

Unfortunately many families don't have toys or crafting stuff.
This is either to do with lack of funds, they don't understand children benefit or need them or due to neglect.
You'd be very surprised at how many children don't have access to any or many.
I also think that there are many adults that don't know how to keep themselves entertained or have any access to books, games , crafting or realise that it could fun.
I feel tensions are going to run very high in many households. I dread to think what the psychological effect this is going to have on many families.

Here the Teens are heavily engaged in school work and social media with the former taking priority here. We have also had them both tidying bedrooms and helping with dog walking, hoovering, emptying the dishwasher etc.
DH and i are both working from home. In between i am focusing on cleaning, making more of an effort with meals, shopping lists, cleaning, sorting and organising, sewing, reading, watching TV and catching up with friends and family virtually. DH works more hours than me i only work PT. He is looking to the garden, exercise, sudoko on his phone, reorganising our large shed, thinking about decorating and he absolutely loves TV and repeats.
But i think you are right OP.
