On the basis that you can only buy two bottles and we shouldn't shop more than once a week...Shock

I haven't been near a shop for a few days, have things calmed down? Can we buy wine freely again when I go later in the week?

Oh I totally forgot about the 4 item rule. I bought 6 bottles in Tesco this morning. No problem at all.

As a more serious response, these are very crazy times.
I would not judge anyone using alcohol as a crutch or means of escape right now.
We have to..

  1. WFH.
  2. Deal with children's schooling and exercise and entertainment and constant "I'm hungry".
  3. Care for elderly relatives and explain to children who don't understand why they cannot see said beloved relatives.
Keep house clean whilst doing 1., 2. And 3. Deal with it all under the constant worry of keeping everyone safe. And I am extremely lucky as I have it infintely better than a lot of people at the moment. I'm absolutely counting my blessings. But if DH wanted to ration my wine, I'd seriously consider my options. Knee jerk reactions are sometimes the correct response though!!

We usually get properly sozzled together on a Friday night. DH was worried that if we drink "moderately" every night between now and then there will be none left for Friday. He doesn't want the madness to rob us of that Grin

We never usually drink during the week and I agree drinking is/could be a concern in the current circumstances.

I've just had 48 bottles delivered by road from Alba in northern Italy via eastern France, Germany, and the Netherlands. The only problem in the entire process was the case that got separated from the others in Manchester.

It cannot be beyond the wit of man for Aldi etc to keep their shelves stocked for when I run out in a couple of weeks.
