How to wash fresh fruit and veg?

I'm getting a fresh fruit and veg delivery tomorrow.

It's coming from a grocer who's collection for from Covent Garden market.

Thinking I'm best to wash it as soon as I take delivery.

WWYD? X

Put a drop or two of washing up liquid in a bowl of cold water and wash fruit and veg in that. Rinse well. Put it on the draining board to dry before storing.

This is done routinely in all homes in Middle Eastern countries in order to remove pesticides, dust and bacteria from local grown produce. Everything is washed as soon as it enters a home.

Washing up liquid is safe, effective, rinses off completely, and will also remove this particular virus.
