Just curious really. I wonder if people would do the right thing now, after Boris addressed us all last night?

OP posts:
lubeybooby · 24/03/2020 15:19

very rural and not going out, but according to our local fb group too many people are still out in the most local town

Thepigeonsarecoming · 24/03/2020 15:21

Nope, hubby took the dog for his daily walk and said the area was full of groups of kids on bikes. Also a big huddle of old people having a natter. Busiest he’s seen it since the summer. Had to change route to avoid them

Hingeandbracket · 24/03/2020 15:21

Can't really tell as I haven't been out. Quiet residential street so never much activity - not much traffic today, or pedestrians but there isn't usually.

Connie222 · 24/03/2020 15:22

Not as far as I can see from my window.
I live on a route into town and there are still groups of young people laughing and waking together. Neighbours were all out having a chat together earlier. The flow of cars past the window as busy as ever.

SnoozyLou · 24/03/2020 15:22

I don't know, because I've STAYED AT HOME!

It's a trap everyone!

defthand · 24/03/2020 15:22

The morning started well but not now. Park behind my house is filling up, roads getting busier, lots of neighbours moving around and chatting out front. 😕

NoRoomInBed · 24/03/2020 15:23

Our town is dead. seen a few people walking their dogs or with a push chair. Didnt see the state of tesco though it was ment to be bonkers people shoving and stealing out trolleys ect

IHaveBrilloHair · 24/03/2020 15:24

I live on a main road and it's deathly quiet so as far as I can tell, yes.

goldenorbspider · 24/03/2020 15:25

Yes went out on a drive to get toddler to sleep. People were talking across the road from one another. Joggers were in the road to avoid people on pavements. Parks were empty just families walking together

Connie222 · 24/03/2020 15:25

And according to local fb groups the big tesco near me was a scrum again this morning. I don’t know what the fuck it’s going to take for people to listen.

Pipandmum · 24/03/2020 15:26

Only went out to walk the dogs. A few other people doing the same keeping their distance. A couple kids kicking a football but they looked like brothers.

Mirada · 24/03/2020 15:26

Huddersfield. Children's play area, in park,....group of four adults, with children sitting chatting together. Three youths walking together, after playing football. Three more youths together smoking weed. Man in street (to another )...'well I think its a load of rubbish'.

MashedPotatoBrainz · 24/03/2020 15:26

I'm in Sweden and have the opposite issue. I wish people would stop listening to the official advice and stay at bloody home.

Noflora · 24/03/2020 15:27

3 households have gathered in our neighbours' garden today.

pickletickled · 24/03/2020 15:27

NE England in a small Town.
I've not been out but people are still out.
Cars are the same passing through my street. I can see a busy road from my window and traffic looks similar to a normal day.
Local fb pages reporting cars full of kids and dogs still turning up at the coast.
Dh is a key worker and back out tomorrow so we'll find out what public transport is like and other parts of the area too.

Eastie77 · 24/03/2020 15:28

Nope. Tubes in East London were packed full this morning according to pictures in the paper. Our main road still seems quite busy. I don't think the message is sinking in.

DP is still going to work. He is not a key worker and I can't understand why his company is even still open (Building Services Engineering). I'm struggling to WFH with two small children, one is whom is ill, and he is insisting he has to go in but being vague about what he he is actually doing all day. I suspect sitting in a virtually empty office surfing social media so as to avoid dealing with the DC all daySad

loobyloo1234 · 24/03/2020 15:29

I can't wait to go for a long walk - my one exercise soon. WFH - and I hate it. But I am sticking to the rules to save lives Smile

MashedPotatoBrainz · 24/03/2020 15:29

I don’t know what the fuck it’s going to take for people to listen.

For the daily death toll reach several hundred a day? Possibly.

For the people around them to start dropping like flies? Probable, but then it's too late.

Drivemybluecar · 24/03/2020 15:30

Nope. My husband was looking out of his window at work. Some man was at the car wash cleaning his car. Not sure that is essential.
I have just got home from work. And the streets here are full like before

AdoptedBumpkin · 24/03/2020 15:32

Seen a few people out and about, mostly alone, on my short walk. Hopefully it was daily exercise for most of them.

G3m81 · 24/03/2020 15:33

Not one bit. Police in my local supermarket asking people why they are shopping and only letting one person per family shop after people decided it was essential to shop for garden plants. I know the weather is lovely but let's have some common sense!

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 24/03/2020 15:34

I don't know, because I've STAYED AT HOME!

It's a trap everyone!

But that’s actually why i dont know 😩

Having said that, not as many cars or people have passed the house

YgritteSnow · 24/03/2020 15:34

In West London and it's quieter than usual but not much. Still plenty of people out walking, taking their daily "exercise"...

SarahTancredi · 24/03/2020 15:36

According to face book no. But then you have to wonder how people are seeing anyone do anything they shouldn't be from their own house windows? Surely all they would see is people AT HOME ????

Judging by what I've seen having gone for my once a a day approved exercise slot everyone doing the same ( walking, running, dog walking) appeared to be keeping their distance . Myself included

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 24/03/2020 15:36

Police in my local supermarket asking people why they are shopping

Really? Wow

I’m not sure whether to be impressed or not...though it possibly shows a lack of detecting skills

What would be the correct answer do you think? Shopping for essentials I suppose
