Builder working next door

House next door being renovated. The main contracter has stayed away today but I can hear the subcontractor moving around the house - he is thumping and doing floors. He will have had to drive here etc. Is this allowed? The exceptionalism is irritating me.

Builders are allowed to keep working as they are key workers. I can’t find the link but I’ve definitely seen one today as my friend asked the same question and someone responded with a screenshot from the gov website.

One of the government ministers tweeted about it (whichever one covers housing and construction). Construction workers can go on site but must abide by social distance rules.

You can go to work if you can't do that work from home. That means a lot of people can carry on working at the moment including your neighbour's builders I suppose.

Michael Gove said it's ok. He said in on TV this morning. As long as the builders and tradespeople stay 2m away from others, it's allowed.

How would a builder be able to WFH? Ffs
