Just that really.
I knew he shouldn't have gone (just over two weeks ago) but back then everyone was still rolling their eyes at me as a doom monger.

They have stopped all flights and the country went into lockdown yesterday.
I have no idea when flights will resume. Oh dear!

I’m very sorry for you.

No, he - obviously - should not have gone. I hope that anyone else still considering travelling anywhere at all understands they must be prepared to stay there indefinitely.

The government has higher priorities now than repatriating people who travelled irresponsibly.

He will probably be safer there than anywhere else. Can he communicate with you?

Absentwomen · 24/03/2020 08:57

I'm sorry, OP.

Have you sought advice from the foreign office?

Likely you have. Its talking to airlines, I'm afraid.

floatygoat · 24/03/2020 09:02

He is in a hotel and has access to WiFi, yes he can communicate with us. No I haven't contacted anyone for help, I'm presuming there's not much they can do. He is going to try to talk to the British embassy but again, I don't think they will be able to help. I just hope his hotel doesn't kick him out.

Has he got enough money for accommodation?

floatygoat · 25/03/2020 10:10

Yes he does thank goodness
