Mental health suffering

I know many will be in the same boat but I’m sinking fast

I can’t stop crying, and it’s been like this for days now.
I have panic attacks and severe anxiety that’s been building for the last 4-5 weeks

I spoke to my midwife at end of February and she said she was referring me to the mental health team of the midwives but I never heard from them and I can’t get through to my midwife and all my future midwife appointments have been cancelled going forward so I don’t expect to see her again.

What should I do?

Your GP can also do a referral to the appropriate MH service, and should be able to liaise with the community midwives.

Call your GP surgery first thing tomorrow morning. I’m sorry you feel like this Flowers

Yes speak to your GP ASAP.

I’m sorry you’re struggling and it must be even worse if you’re pregnant.

You poor thing, have my sympathy, my ds has mental health issues and the self isolation and worry about the virus has really hit him hard.

Firstly I’d try booking an appointment with your regular GP, you are unwell and need help.

In the meantime do you have anyone at home with you? If not can you contact your family? While they can’t visit you sometimes just hearing a friendly voice can help. If not have a look for mental health charities they often have people you can speak to and they will be able to help you with next steps.

Also maybe take a look at downloading the Headspace or Calm apps for your phone. They have some good mindfulness technique you can try if you’re feeling anxious.
