My boiler broke last night and now we can't get any hot water. It's still coming on for heating. Our shower works off the boiler!!!

Call a plumber.

They are still allowed to come into your home.

However you have to practice social distancing.

This means you must move yourself to a separate room and must not offer them any drinks.

You must then clean all surfaces and things in their path after they have left.

You can call a plumber in this scenario. It’s a serious matter.

My plumber has tweeted about the social distancing/hygiene measures he and his plumber’s mate will be taking - gloves, dettol, asking the homeowner to sit in a different room, pay online etc. He’s also said that he’ll undertake emergency work only but will try to help with minor jobs by giving customers instructions via Skype.
