DH drove to the supermarket this evening. We all suspected we'd get "lockdown" of some kind pretty soon.
He said it was quite normal in there, well stocked , they even had toilet rolls! So, good opportunity for a proper family shop?
Nope!
There are 4 of us. The DC's are at home as no school so need lunch each day. They eat loads of fruit. He bought;
A pack of 6 apples.
One pack of bananas.
A pack of 6 tomatoes
1 cucumber.
One cabbage.
Celery and carrots.
4 parsnips.
Didn't go into the meat aisle, or the Quorn section at all. He did get eggs.
The fruit will last less than two days. There's no "green" veg to go with a dinner dish (oldest won't eat cabbage). The tomatoes will last possibly two lunches.
So now I'll have to go again probably on Wednesday, assuming it's another good stock day, when right now we're only supposed to be going out when absolutely necessary. We have a corner shop, but it's more expensive and only has basic veg.
He didn't need to "stockpile", but he could have done a bloody weekly shop.
Argh!
