Do you think Amazon and other deliveries will arrive in lockdown?

I've ordered some stuff from Amazon and one other place. The Amazon stuff has already been dispatched and is mid transit. Do you think it will arrive? Or will it get stuck in a sorting office somewhere?

Good question my item has been dispatched too.

manicinsomniac · 23/03/2020 23:07

I think it will arrive. Online shopping is being encouraged, I think.

Moomin8 · 23/03/2020 23:09

Yes online shopping is fine

bungleZippy12 · 23/03/2020 23:09

Yep I think it’ll be fine too.

viccat · 23/03/2020 23:10

Royal Mail and courier companies are continuing to operate, yes. You will get your parcels.

Egghead68 · 23/03/2020 23:10

Yes

TheoriginalLEM · 23/03/2020 23:10

I haven't a clue. I ordered something expensive yesterday and regretted it. The Good Lord must have been smiling on me because i clicked on the wrong credit card and they declined payment. So i would have been pretty stressed I reckon.

I hope your stuff comes.

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 23/03/2020 23:10

Yes of course it will. Delivery drivers are key workers.

shivermetimbers77 · 23/03/2020 23:11

Yep delivery drivers are key workers.. but I think Amazon are being encouraged to focus on 'essential goods' once their current stock is gone

cricketmum84 · 23/03/2020 23:12

God I hope so. I've ordered 2 bottles of gin from amazon!!!

Starlight1243 · 23/03/2020 23:13

I wondered this I ordered from smyths for ds birthday and waiting for my microwave and dryer from currys.

HuckfromScandal · 23/03/2020 23:15

But who is going to pack all these parcels, I don’t see how they are included in key workers?
I am concerned I have 54 rolls of loo paper arriving on Sunday (my usual 6 monthly order)
And I have not panic bought at all......so we are close to the end of the last supply!

Greendin · 23/03/2020 23:15

Yes but Amazon deliveries are taking longer as they are prioritising "essential" items. We have Amazon Prime next day delivery but an item I ordered today won't be delivered until Friday. They also took five days to deliver a gift card which is usually next day too.

Opendraw · 23/03/2020 23:16

I think it depends if non esssential item warehouses need to close . 2 items I ordered today from amazon where an April delivery , just got an email to say I’ll have both this week. Felt like a push to fulfill orders.

Opendraw · 23/03/2020 23:17

Book and a game so non essential

RosieSunset · 23/03/2020 23:18

Yes. They are triaging what’s an essential item and what isn’t with regard to dispatch times though. So food, some toiletries etc still quick, garden tool not so much.

SushiGo · 24/03/2020 06:13

I am hoping orders we made a few days ago for equipment to homeschool will arrive.

If not, we'll cope.

Moomin8 · 24/03/2020 09:54

Amazon was putting adverts on tv to recruit new staff so I expect they need them...
