What do you do if your non essential work place won't close?

This is for a friend.

She is able to work from home and has the correct set up. However, they are refusing to allow it. She has had childcare up until now but obviously this has now changed.

I've said to contact her MP. Surely they can't just decide to not close?!

I am in the same position and raging about it. Currently on unpaid leave to look after the children but can't continue like this obviously as need income coming in.

It's absolutely farcical!

I'm an essential worker and working at home already.

Rules are rules. if people start bending them, then everyone will

Contact your MP or a local councillor. Ask them to speak to the employer.
