SSP when looking after a child who has to isolate for 12 weeks

Hi

If I stay at home for 12 weeks to look after my child, who I think will be in the very vulnerable group, I assume I won’t be able to claim SSP, as I won’t be the one isolating. But I won’t be able to go to work either.

Does anyone have information on this? Thank you

Take a look on Citizens Advice website at the Coronavirus info. You can claim universal credit if following government guidance re self isolating as under that you will be considered unfit for work. Make a claim online and if struggle with any part of the claim process call the CAB Help to Claim helpline.
